This article is part of the Claude Cowork for SDRs series. The pillar guide covers the complete SDR deployment framework. The sequence writing guide covers how Cowork generates personalised sequences. This guide covers the integration layer: how Cowork connects to Outreach and Salesloft, what each workflow pattern looks like in practice, and how to configure the three-way stack (Cowork + sequencing platform + CRM) that eliminates manual data movement between prospecting, sequencing, and CRM. For the broader SDR workflow results this produces, see the analysis in how SDR teams book 2x more qualified meetings.
How the Cowork + Outreach/Salesloft Integration Works
Claude Cowork uses the Model Context Protocol (MCP) to connect to external tools. Outreach and Salesloft both have MCP connectors available in Cowork's connector library. Once authenticated, the connector allows Cowork to read sequence data, contact records, and engagement history from your sequencing platform — and push new sequences, contact updates, and personalised step copy back to it.
The integration does not replace Outreach or Salesloft's delivery engine, analytics, or A/B testing capabilities. Those platforms remain authoritative for sequence management and performance data. Cowork's role is as the intelligence layer upstream: it generates the content, researches the account context, and produces the personalised copy that flows into the sequencing platform as sequence steps.
| Layer | Tool | Role in the Stack |
|---|---|---|
| Intelligence & Generation | Claude Cowork | ICP scoring, account research, personalised sequence writing, objection responses |
| Sequence Delivery | Outreach or Salesloft | Email sending, call scheduling, engagement tracking, A/B testing, analytics |
| CRM | Salesforce or HubSpot | Contact records, opportunity tracking, activity logging, pipeline reporting |
| Data Enrichment | Apollo / ZoomInfo / Clearbit | Contact data, firmographics, technographics, intent signals |
Connecting Claude Cowork to Outreach
The Outreach MCP connector for Cowork requires an Outreach API key with read/write permissions on Sequences, Prospects, and Accounts objects. Configuration takes approximately 10 minutes once you have the API key.
Generate an Outreach API key
In Outreach: Settings → API → Create API key. Select scopes: sequences.read, sequences.write, prospects.read, prospects.write, accounts.read. Copy the key — you'll only see it once.
Install the Outreach MCP connector in Cowork
In Cowork: Connectors → Add Connector → Outreach. Paste the API key. Select the workspace and specify which sequence templates Cowork can read as context. Enable write permissions for sequence step creation if you want Cowork to push sequences directly.
Configure the sequence push workflow
In your Cowork canvas, create a "Push to Outreach" skill: after generating a sequence, the skill formats each touch as an Outreach sequence step and creates a new sequence in the specified Outreach template. Steps include subject lines, email body, day offset, and channel (email/call/LinkedIn task). The new sequence appears in Outreach ready for prospect enrolment.
Set up engagement-triggered follow-up
Using Cowork Dispatch, configure a trigger that fires when Outreach reports a prospect email open (3+ times) or a link click. Dispatch instructs Cowork to pull the prospect's account brief from the canvas and draft a hot follow-up email. The draft routes to the SDR's Outreach inbox for review and one-click send. This workflow reduces hot follow-up response time from hours to under 5 minutes.
Connecting Claude Cowork to Salesloft
The Salesloft MCP connector follows a similar pattern. Salesloft's API uses OAuth 2.0 rather than API key authentication, so the setup requires an OAuth app registration in your Salesloft account.
Register a Cowork OAuth app in Salesloft
In Salesloft: Settings → API → Connected Apps → Create App. Name it "Claude Cowork Integration". Select scopes: cadences.read, cadences.write, people.read, people.write, accounts.read. Copy the Client ID and Client Secret.
Authenticate the connector in Cowork
In Cowork: Connectors → Add Connector → Salesloft. Enter the Client ID and Secret. Complete the OAuth flow — you'll be redirected to Salesloft for authorisation and returned to Cowork with an active connection.
Map Cowork sequence output to Salesloft cadence steps
Salesloft uses "cadences" rather than sequences. Configure the Cowork push skill to map each touch to a Salesloft cadence step: email steps map to Salesloft Email steps; LinkedIn tasks map to Salesloft LinkedIn steps; call scripts map to Salesloft Phone steps with voicemail notes. Cowork creates the cadence in Salesloft with all steps populated, ready for prospect enrolment.
Configure the Salesloft intelligence feed
Cowork can read Salesloft engagement data — open rates, click rates, reply sentiment (from Salesloft AI summaries) — and use this information to refine sequence generation. After 2–3 weeks of data, configure a weekly Cowork Dispatch skill to review sequence performance data from Salesloft and identify which personalisation angles are driving the best engagement. Recommendations feed back into your canvas skill files.
The Three-Way Stack: Cowork + Sequencing Platform + Salesforce
The full SDR workflow automation connects three systems: Claude Cowork (intelligence), Outreach or Salesloft (sequencing), and Salesforce or HubSpot (CRM). When all three connectors are active and configured, the manual data movement between prospecting, sequencing, and CRM drops to near zero.
The Automated Research-to-CRM Pipeline
Cowork generates an account brief → creates sequence in Outreach/Salesloft → logs the research summary as a Salesforce activity note on the contact record. When a prospect replies, Outreach notifies Cowork via Dispatch → Cowork drafts reply → SDR reviews and sends → reply logged to Salesforce automatically. Meeting booked → Salesforce opportunity created with pre-populated context from Cowork's research brief. Zero manual data entry across the entire workflow.
The Weekly Sequence Performance Review
Each Monday morning, a Cowork Dispatch skill pulls the previous week's sequence performance data from Outreach or Salesloft: open rates, reply rates, meeting booking rates by sequence, by persona, by industry segment. Cowork compares performance to benchmarks, identifies the top-performing personalisation angles, and drafts a 1-page report for the sales manager with recommended sequence template updates. Total time: 0 minutes of SDR or manager effort.
Note on data governance: The Cowork + Outreach/Salesloft + Salesforce integration involves prospect personal data flowing between three systems. For enterprise deployments with GDPR or CCPA obligations, ensure your data processing agreements cover the full data flow and that prospect data is not retained in Cowork's canvas beyond the active session without explicit consent controls. Our Claude security and governance service covers integration-level data governance configuration.
The Cowork-to-Outreach Push Prompt
Once your sequence is generated in the Cowork canvas, use this prompt to push it to Outreach as a formatted sequence.
